SETTING THE STANDARD IN MODERN HOMES.

An area increasing in popularity is the use of our standard range of plaster cornice mouldings in the development of modern new properties. We have recently used our dentil cornice Ref C111 pictured aside in a new property to enhance the features of a stairwell and skylight. We used this dentil cornice as standard in straight runs, but also re-moulded it in a circular section for the upper skylight area.

We have also created plaster cornice mouldings to use on the
bottom edge of the circular skylight and also an L-shaped plaster cornice moulding around the square edge of the recessed part.

COLUMNS ARE AN ARCHITECT'S BEST FRIEND.

For this project we manufactured the plaster columns pictured below to the architect’s detailed specifications. These are not part of our standard range but we regularly create bespoke items for clients to their requirements. This is made possible due to our continued investment in our large manufacturing facility based in Kirkintilloch.

Our specialist tradesmen can take the architect's detailed drawings and create columns to suit the sizes requested which are then fitted by our expert craftsmen.

SIMPLICITY IN DESIGN

Cornice is not only used as a traditional interior feature, but can enhance any modern home.  We have installed one of our simple linear designs (C105) within this modern bedroom to the clean modern lines of the design.

ART DECO STYLE LIVING ROOM

In addition to restoration work we can also design bespoke cornices.  Due to the skills of our manufacturing team we can take a simple linear sketch of a profile and manufacture it.  We have designed a simple, Art Deco style cornice here and again used it to enhance a modern living area.  The ceiling was then boxed to create a step effect with a simple moulding used to enhance the feature.

COMBINING TRADITIONAL AND MODERN

Many of our stock range of cornices are modelled on existing traditional designs.  In this project, which was a new build home, we have used our Kelvin design within the interior.  The Kelvin is part of the Glasgow Collection and is used in conjunction with our panel moulding on the ceiling to create a stunning feature that compliments the individuality of the owner's home.
