Perfection made easy
Garrison House, Millport. Creating perfection from scratch. Here we had a project whereby the client approached us only with photographs of the ceiling, as the building had lain derelict for years following extensive fire damage and the ceiling had been completely lost. They did however have samples of the original cornice and panel mouldings from which we could physically mould from. However, the centre rose was completely lost which meant the full rose had to be modelled from scratch, with all enrichments modelled in clay, trying to match with a photograph. This was a very time consuming process, however once we reached approval from the architect, the manufacture could begin. We then reinstated the full ceiling, consisting of the very intricate ornate cornice, ornate ceiling panel moulding set out to match integral layout with feature intersections, ornate corner features (again modelled by hand from clay), and of course, the central rose completely restored to its original glory.
